We provide different types of fostering to meet the needs of individual children. This includes short- and long-term fostering, supported lodgings, and family and friend carers.
We also support applications for Special guardianship orders, whereby foster carers can take parental responsibility to a child until they are grown up.
Although carers are not entitled to claim child benefits or tax credits, they will receive fostering allowances and fees to cover maintenance and special occasions.
Foster with Bury Council provides foster care services for local children throughout Bury, Greater Manchester, and the surrounding areas. Committed to offering the highest quality of service possible, we are currently recruiting foster carers for all ranges and we are also keen to hear from approved carers interested in transferring to Bury. We hope that every foster carer will find fostering a rewarding experience. Get in touch today to learn more.
Help us offer safe, secure and loving homes to children who are in foster care in your community. We offer an extensive training programme throughout the year to support our carers in their professional development. Being part of the Local Authority, our Fostering Carers have access to a range of multi-agency support including Education, Health, CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services). We offer good financial remuneration including annual allowances of birthday, holiday and festival payments. Our aim is to place all looked after children in Bury with our Foster Carers to enable children to remain living within the community they are familiar with, close by to school, friends and family. We also welcome enquiries from existing approved Foster Carers who would like to consider transferring to Bury to care for local children and have access to regular placements.
